At first I was skeptical of Tammy C.'s comment that Sibelius 6 Education Edition could not be registered with Sibelius and educational or academic software was prohibited to be sold on Amazon.com.
But I called Sibelius and talked with customer representative, Howard S., and he confirm that they have been instructed to refuse registration for customers purchasing from Amazon.com. He recommended that I purchase Sibelius 6 - Educational Edition from another company. He said that Sibelius legal group is getting involved in this matter since per Amazon's policy they should not sell academic software.
I followed Tammy C.'s direction to location the prohibition in the Amazon policy and she was correct. This confirmed that Amazon.com own policy prohibits academic software to be sold. So why is Amazon letting this happen. I think it is just greed and being two faced. They have a policy against it and yet they are doing what they should not do on their own site and against their own policy. This is outrageous.
Thank you Tammy you saved me from making a bad mistake.
PROHIBITED PRODUCT - CAN NOT REGISTER WITH SIBELIUS
Buy this from another company. I spent $289.99 and I cannot use it, and I cannot get a refund or anything from Amazon.
I called Sibelius to register and when I told them I purchased the Sibelius 6 Educational Edition from Amazon, they said that they cannot register it. They said it is against Amazon policy to sell academic software, sellers cannot check for academic proof and they will no longer register this product when purchased from Amazon. So what am I to do now? No one will help me.
