Lowest New Price: $89.99 Reviews:Too many limitations and annoyancesPurchasing a "student edition" one would expect to be able to do basic things simply. This does not seem to be the case with this product. Simple tasks such as inserting a note in the middle of a melody, changing a time signature or even changing the title of a composition are either not possible or are not easy. The help materials, most of which do not come with the product, spend as much time vaunting the product as in providing useful information. And, to top it off, technical support seems largely unavailable -- e-mails not answered, telephone not answered. My piano teacher suggested that I should have bought Finale. Good...butIt's good but only allows for 12 staffs (12 diff instr.) so no big band arranging which i need, i will have to upgrade Love it!I explored all the options and chose the Student version of Sibelius. I couldn't be happier. It takes care of my writing and transposing needs and produces nice clean copies of music that I can share in email or print out. It also supports MIDI input from my keyboard. The price was right, and it doesn't load a huge program on my computer that I'll only use 1/4 of. I'm so glad Sibelius makes this stripped down version for people like me who don't need all the bells and whistles. I may never need to upgrade! Good quality, fast deliveranceI haven't had a whole lot of time to play with Sibelius yet, but as soon as I do, I think I will enjoy it! I was very impressed with the fast deliverance also. Sibelius Student edition brief reviewThis is a great product but i recently upgraded to the full Sibelius 5 version, the best product of it's kind out there. The Student version is quite adequate to start with (the upgrade to 5 is very reasonable). WH |
